Our Aizome (meaning indigo in Japanese) washi paper features a variety of designs on a rich indigo background. Each pack may vary from picture slightly.

Chiyogami is a specific word developed to describe the graphic, repetitive designs applied to paper.

Yuzen patterns were originally designed for the textile industry in Kyoto which included a lot of gold. Some designs can be very elaborate. This paper works well for bookbinding or as background accents in paper crafts.

To recognize the real Japanese papers you will need to look for intense colors and color layering.
